Hi, I’m Joyce
Learning and growth are my core values. I believe in transforming “I can’t” into “How can I…”
I am an experienced leader that develops the potential in people and businesses. Also, I’ve been where you are – feeling unsure, stuck, or wondering if I have what it takes to succeed, especially since I looked and acted differently than most of the leaders I saw.
After starting my career in investment banking, I joined Microsoft where I spent 15 years driving strategic transformation in high-performing environments, including a decade in mergers & acquisitions and the last 5 years at the intersection of technology, art & business leading Xbox Game Pass content strategy.
Along the way, I coached myself and others through challenges, plateaus and uncertainty. I have experienced the power of the “aha” moments that coaching provides. I credit my own coach with helping me navigate through the valley of despair I experienced when I stepped into the Xbox role as a first-time people manager and felt completely overwhelmed and incompetent. She gave me the tools and support to find my way forward and stay authentic to myself.
I am deeply curious about people and their motivations and I love to help people think big for themselves and develop their potential.
When I’m not coaching, you can find me bouldering and spending time with my 2 dogs and partner, following the outdoor climbing seasons in Seattle and Vegas. Climbing is a concrete and constant reminder of the necessity of failure and experimentation as part of learning and growth. I love that there are so many parallels between climbing and career progression (same problems, just different forms!).
